Privacy Policy

Float is built around a simple idea — your money is your business, not ours. This page explains what information Float collects, how it's used, and what stays on your device.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address. That's it from Google's side. We use this to identify your account and keep your data separate from anyone else who uses Float.

Everything else — your balance, bills, transactions, splits, and settings — is stored securely on your device using encrypted storage. We don't see it, store it on our servers, or have access to it.

What we don't do

We don't sell your information. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't run ads in Float at all. There's no tracking pixel following you around, and we're not building a profile of your spending habits to sell to anyone.

Crash reports

If Float crashes or runs into an error, we use a tool called Sentry to send us a technical report so we can fix the bug. These reports include things like error messages and which screen you were on — not your financial data.

Account switching

If you sign out and sign in with a different Google account, Float keeps each account's data separate on your device. Switching back to a previous account restores that account's data.

Your data, your control

You can export a full backup of your data at any time from Settings. You can also delete everything permanently — once it's gone, it's gone, and we can't recover it for you because we never had it in the first place.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes about how Float handles your information, we'll update this page. We'll try to make any major changes obvious within the app too.
